Family Photography-Letting Kids Just Be Kids

Let it be know, I absolutely love photographing toddlers! They truly only know how to be themselves and they wear there heart on their sleeves. They show you who they are, their true personality, without hesitation.

Another passion of mine is photographing parents that fully lean into their session. The ones that try to forget that I’m even there and just go about life embracing the smiles, laughter, (occasional tears), comforting littles and play… With a giant smile on their face.

As parents we hire photographers to capture this moment in time in our lives. These fleeting moments of our ever growing babies. And unless your family rolls around posed and smiling at a camera all day, everyday- I, as an artist trying to capture life as authentically as I possibly can, need for your family to show their true selves during our sessions together.

What does this look like? It’s letting go and just loving on your family. It’s letting your children, be CHILDREN! Let them play- And you play along. Let them run, jump, climb, and roll around on the ground. It’s comforting them when the fall down. Snuggle them if they are feeling shy or tired. Smooching them all over for some smiles. It’s holding their hands and giving them big squishy hugs.

What does it not look like? Coaching your family to sit still and smile at the camera. It’s not stressing about your children’s behavior or worrying they will get a little dirty. (I have 3 kids and 3 large dogs- Trust me when I say your children will do great!) This is real life- And right now, for many of us, life is full of joy, chaos, mess, and lots of emotions! So let’s capture that!

I truly want you to just show up ready to give all the love. Let me worry about your children and just relax and enjoy some uninterrupted time with your loved ones.
